The limbs are rendered as diagonal lines terminating in triangular extremities. The helmet is drawn as a pointed triangle, and very thick lines to its right might represent a shield as seen in profile. Two red, thick, and long lines to the left of the figure possibly indicate the blood of the enemy slain by the gladiator.","caption":"Drawing of a gladiator","writingStyleInEnglish":"painted","property":{"englishPropertyName":"Basilica","italianPropertyName":"Basilica","insula":{"shortName":"Agora","fullName":"Agora","city":{"name":"Smyrna","pleiadesId":"550771"}},"propertyTypes":[{"name":"Basilica","description":""}],"numberOfGraffiti":325,"uri":"Smyrna/Agora/1","propertyName":"Basilica","propertyNumber":"1"},"figuralInfo":{"drawingTags":[{"name":"Gladiators","description":""}],"descriptionInLatin":"((:gladiator cum scuto))","descriptionInEnglish":"gladiator with shield"},"trismegistosNumber":null,"uri":"https://ancientgraffiti.org/Graffiti/graffito/AGP-SMYD00053","agpId":"AGP-SMYD00053","citation":"AGP-SMYD00053, <i>The Ancient Graffiti Project</i>, &lt;https://ancientgraffiti.org/Graffiti/graffito/AGP-SMYD00053&gt; [accessed: 29 Apr 2026]","graffitoHeight":"48","graffitoLength":"26","pleiadesId":"550771","locationMetadataLink":"properties/Smyrna/Agora/1"}
